Now that the regular season is over and it's on to the bowl part of the 2023-2024 campaign, how good were all 133 teams from Week 0 through the conference championships?
We do the rankings in two ways at the end. They're done by the CFN Historical Season Formula which goes from 1 to 133 based on strength of schedules, how many wins and how strong the wins are.
These rankings from 1 to 133 are all on how good we thought all the teams were after the conference championships were over. Forget about transfers and what some teams have become as we speak, this is about the opinion of how good the teams really were, how the head-to-head battles turned out as the whole puzzle is put together.
That's why a certain team is so low. Yes, it had a great season, and again, that's where the CFN Historical Season Formula rankings kick in. But just having a great record doesn't necessarily mean our "eye test" goes along with it. We always respect the results, and we don't punish for losses to teams ranked higher.
This will be explained more at the end.
