25 Seattle Seahawks
What Went Right: It's Seattle, so it does what it does when it comes to draft - blow off all conventional wisdom - but it went hard on the infrastructure. The lines got plenty of help - landing Byron Murphy at the 16 could be a relative steal. Sataoa Laumea should be the rare starter from the 6th round, but ...
What Went Wrong: Where are the difference-makers? Murphy should be one, but they'd better hope beyond all reasonable hope that one of the Day 3 corner picks works large or there's a problem.
Best Value Pick: Sataoa Laumea OG Utah, 6th
Biggest Reach: AJ Barner TE Michigan, 4th
Draft Grade: C+, 2023 Ranking: 6
1 (16) Byron Murphy II DT Texas
3 (81) Christian Haynes OG UConn
4 (118) Tyice Knight LB UTEP
4 (121) AJ Barner TE Michigan
5 (136) Nehiamiah Pritchett CB Auburn
6 (179) Sataoa Laumea OG Utah
6 (192) DJ James CB Auburn
6 (207) Michael Jerrell OT Findlay
24 Washington Commanders
What Went Right: Jayden Daniels might be The Guy in this draft, the Commanders got him at the 2. The second-guessing will come if Drake Maye turns out to be amazing, but there's a shot Daniels is the best player in the draft. Getting DT Jer'Zhan Newton in the second round is ridiculous - he'll be an instant factor, but ...
What Went Wrong: Just about everything else. There weren't any offensive tackles taken, there wasn't a lot of value late, and next to nothing was done about finding more of a pass rush.
Best Value Pick: Jer'Zhan Newton DT Illinois, 2nd
Biggest Reach: Luke McCaffrey WR Rice, 3rd
Draft Grade: C+, 2023 Ranking: 25
1 (2) Jayden Daniels QB LSU

5 (139) Jordan Magee LB Temple
5 (161) Dominque Hampton S Washington
7 (222) Javontae Jean-Baptiste EDGE Notre Dame
23 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
What Went Right: Graham Barton was a nice versatile get for the interior of the line at a decent value, and landing Bucky Irving in the 4th was one of those later running backs who might be a thing.
What Went Wrong: There wasn't anything done to get younger at quarterback. There were plenty of chances to take a decent option to develop. Offensive tackle was ignored, and they didn't get any sure-thing receiver help if Jalen McMillan isn't great.
Best Value Pick: Jalen McMillan WR Washington, 3rd
Biggest Reach: Elijah Klein OG UTEP, 6th
Draft Grade: B-, 2023 Ranking: 26
1 (26) Graham Barton C/OG Duke
2 (57) Chris Braswell EDGE Alabama
3 (89) Tykee Smith S Georgia
3 (92) Jalen McMillan WR Washington
4 (125) Bucky Irving RB Oregon
6 (220) Elijah Klein OG UTEP
7 (246) Devin Culp TE Washington
22 Indianapolis Colts
What Went Right: The Colts checked almost all of their boxes. They had too many Day 3 picks, but they did it right by getting three defensive backs and throwing out some interesting ideas to find a player or two. WR Adonai Mitchell in the 2nd was one of the strongest value picks in the draft, but ...
What Went Wrong: They needed a tight end and didn't make a push to get Brock Bowers two picks before their slot at the 15. That would've been the gamechanger. Laiatu Latu has the talent to be the top pass rusher in the draft, but he's a bit of a risk with Alabama's Dallas Turner still there.
Best Value Pick: Adonai Mitchell WR Texas, 3rd
Biggest Reach: Jaylon Carlies S Missouri, 5th
Draft Grade: B-, 2023 Ranking: 4
1 (15) Laiatu Latu EDGE UCLA
2 (52) Adonai Mitchell WR Texas
3 (79) Matt Goncalves OT Pitt
4 (117) Tanor Bortolini C Wisconsin
5 (142) Anthony Gould WR Oregon State
5 (151) Jaylon Carlies S Missouri
5 (164) Jaylin Simpson S Auburn
6 (201) Micah Abraham CB Marshall
7 (234) Jonah Laulu DT Oklahoma
21 Detroit Lions
What Went Right: Detroit needed lots of options for the secondary, and it got them. CB Terrion Arnold was wonderful value late in the 1st round, Ennis Rakestraw was a solid get in the second, and S Sione Vaki in the 5th was a decent idea. Never get too fired up over any Day 3 pick, but DT Mekhi Wingo and OG Christian Mahogany in the 6th were insane value selections.
What Went Wrong: Where's the pass rusher? There were only six picks and four of them were on Day 3, so there wasn't any room to take everyone, but the Lions needed more help for the defensive front and didn't do quite enough.
Best Value Pick: Mekhi Wingo DT LSU, DT
Biggest Reach: Giovanni Manu OT British Columbia, 4th
Draft Grade: B-, 2023 Ranking: 13
1 (24) Terrion Arnold CB Alabama
2 (61) Ennis Rakestraw CB Missouri
4 (126) Giovanni Manu OT British Columbia
4 (132) Sione Vaki S Utah
6 (189) Mekhi Wingo DT LSU
6 (210) Christian Mahogany OG Boston College
