Why Oregon State Will Win

Still under the radar compared to the splashier Pac-12 teams, Oregon State remains rock solid. It’s got one of the strongest, toughest running games in the conference, DJ Uiagalelei has been terrific - even if the stats don’t always show it - and the defense has been outstanding.

The pass rush is good, the third down stops are there, the takeaways have picked up. It’s a team good enough to motor through a very good UCLA, and won’t get phased by the long road trip to the desert.

So how did Washington State beat this bunch? It took a nearly perfect passing day from Cameron Ward to pull it off, and even then - on the road - the Beavers were right there in the end of a 38-35 loss. However …

Why Arizona Will Win

Speaking of fantastic passing games and Washington State, Arizona just doornailed the Cougars in a 44-6 win thanks to a 34-of-43 day for 342 yards from QB Noah Fifita.

Yeah, the Wildcats lost two of their last three games, but they pushed Washington, should’ve beaten USC, and were amazing against Wazzu with their third game of the year with more than 500 yards of total offense to go along with - probably - the best defensive performance of the Jedd Fisch era.

All of a sudden, the spark is there, the balance is good, and the run defense is in place to keep Oregon State from setting the tone with Damien Martinez and tough attack.

Oregon State vs Arizona Who Will Win

Arizona hasn’t been home all that much.

This is just the second date in Tucson in Pac-12 play, and it’s about to come up with its second straight fantastic win.

No, this won’t be close to as easy as the Washington State victory was, but the offense will keep on moving through a few early turnovers, the pass rush will bother Uiagalelei, and Fifita will keep on showing what he’s going to be the star of Arizona football for the next few seasons.
