Why Vermont Will Win

This is the exact type of team the high-seeded teams want nothing to do with.

Vermont is balanced, deep, and very, very, very old.

It's a senior dominated team on a 15-game winning streak. It doesn't turn the ball over, feisty on defense, and it hits a whole lot of threes. Great at generating the open shot, this crew works well together and rarely gets a bad look.

There's not a lot happening on the boards, but the biggest weakness shouldn't be a problem here - Marquette doesn't rebound well, either.

Why Marquette Will Win

The Golden Eagles are even better at moving the ball around than the Catamounts are. 

Shaka Smart's team attacks defensively - it's among the best in the country at coming up with steals - and turns the big plays into points. Vermont might be able to shoot well, but it doesn't do a thing on the move. 

Marquette has the ability to turn the lights out with a few good defensive plays going the other way. The offense might be a tad too streaky on the outside, but when it needs a little push it has a way of turning up the defensive pressure.
