Colorado vs Kansas Prediction, Game Preview, and Betting Lines

Preview of the Colorado vs Kansas matchup with the CFN prediction, why each team will win, and betting lines for the Week 13 game.

Yeah, Colorado has everything for the taking.

Beat Kansas, beat Oklahoma State, beat either BYU, Arizona State, or Iowa State, and … boom. It’s likely the 3 seed in the College Football Playoff.

Outstanding over the last month since losing to Kansas State, the Buffaloes have improved as the season has gone on.

Okay, so the best win this year was over … uhhhhhh, Texas Tech? Baylor? Colorado State?

But no one will care as long as Coach Prime’s team keeps on rolling.

Can Kansas throw yet another wrench into the system? It spent weeks doing almost everything but win, and then it opened up a can of angst on Iowa State, pushed past BYU, and now it gets a chance to wreck all the fun if it can get by the Buffaloes.

Why Colorado Will Win

All of a sudden, the run defense has become fantastic.

It helps that it played a slew of teams that can’t run, but it still did a great job of holding up against Texas Tech, held Utah to 31 yards on 30 carries - it brought it against a Ute offense that’s struggling at quarterback - and now it gets a Kansas ground game that’s great, but was held in check by BYU last week.

And then there’s Shedeur.

Everyone is handling Travis Hunter the Heisman, but shhhhhhhh - even if Deion Sanders doesn’t think so, his son is the more deserving candidate.

He’s spreading out a few more picks than he did last year, but he’s hitting 72% of his throws, he’s making all the right decisions, and if anything he’s actually underrated considering all the hype around the Buffaloes. However …

Why Kansas Will Win

Sanders is used to handling big pass rushing teams, and he’s fine with getting popped, but Kansas might bring a problem with its ability to get behind the line on a regular basis.

But this isn’t about the Jayhawk defense.

The offense might have struggled against BYU, but it’s almost perfectly balanced, the ground game is normally rolling up more than five yards per carry, and now Colorado has to deal with a real offense that can crank up yards in chunks.

How did Colorado lose to Nebraska and Kansas State? Those were two of the three times Colorado allowed over 4.2 yards per carry. Kansas has only been held under 4.6 yards per run once.

Colorado vs Kansas: Who Will Win?

Kansas just isn’t consistent enough.

It was able to rip up Iowa State with a big offensive day, and it’ll put up big numbers on the Buffaloes, but it hasn’t faced too many high-powered passing games.

TCU threw its way to a win over KU, Illinois was accurate enough to get by, and Shedeur will be too good in the second half to overcome a rough first 30 minutes.
