Winner: JJ McCarthy, QB Michigan
He's not being talked about in the Heisman chase quite yet - at least not as a top contender - but it's not like he won't have chances to get there. So far against UNLV and East Carolina he hit a nation-leading 87% of his throws for 558 yards and five touchdowns with no interceptions.

Loser: Wisconsin defense
Wisconsin - not Georgia - led the nation in total defense in 2021, and it wasn't even that close. It allowed over 300 yards just twice, and once was against Michigan.

Last season the Badgers finished 11th in the nation in total defense, and so far in Year One under Luke Fickell? 58th. It allowed 300 yards or more in two games to Buffalo and Washington State in the 1-1 start.

Winner: YouTubeTV multi-view
Yes, kids, there was a time when TVs had a picture-in-picture feature, and yes, some of us figured out how to use a cable splitter to watch multiple TVs at once on game days. It would be nice if the YouTubeTV multi-view feature would allow to choose the games - or sports - you wanted to see in each box, but whatever. For now, it has made the world a better place.

Loser: FOX college football graphics
Answer: The Great Wall of China. The Pyramids of Giza. The Grand Canyon. The FOX score bug on the bottom of the TV screen.

Question: What are things visible from space?

Winner: FIU vs North Texas
It was the best game you didn't see. FIU beat North Texas 46-39 with the two teams combining for 1,062 yards with both sides tremendously balanced. It was 39-38 North Texas until the final seven minutes, FIU scores, and hung on with a stop before grinding out the clock.

Loser: Games involving the top ranked teams
Even Alabama-Texas was a double-digit result. All the games involving top 10 teams were relative blowouts, and it was way ugly up top. Georgia, Michigan, Florida State, Ohio State, USC, Penn State, Washington, and Tennessee combined to win their games by an average of 49-8.

Winner: Air Force defense
Granted, the two games so far were against Robert Morris and Sam Houston - the Bearkats are actually a lot better than their 0-2 start - but Air Force leads the nation in total defense allowing just 118 yards per game. No. 2 D Memphis allows 153 an outing. By the way, Air Force finished last season with the No. 1 defense in America, but ...

Loser: Air Force passing game
It's sort of hard to blame Air Force for the overall results so far. It's No. 2 in the nation in rushing behind UCF, and dead last in passing. It's impressive - Air Force has thrown six passes in two games. Navy has thrown the second-fewest - 25.
