College Football News Freshman All-America Team 2023: Offense

College Football News Freshman All-America Team, the offense. Who were the best and brightest young stars of the 2023 season?

2023 Freshman All-America Team The portal is making it tougher than ever for freshmen, both redshirts and first-year freshmen, to get meaningful reps. Which makes what these newcomers below have accomplished this fall so impressive.

They didn’t just beat out a bunch of veterans for playing time – they emerged as young cornerstones of the future. And in doing so, ironically enough, they might now have opportunities to take their talent to a new campus for greater exposure or a sweeter NIL deal.

Offensive Freshman of the Year

QB Noah Fifita, Arizona

QB Noah Fifita, Arizona

Fifita’s a microcosm of Arizona’s breakout 9-3 season. A backup until Jayden de Laura went down in Week 4, he came off the bench to throw for 2,515 yards, 23 TDs and just five picks. Fifita leads all freshmen in completion percentage and passer rating and broke the school’s single-game record with 527 passing yards in a rout of Arizona State.

RB Jalen Buckley, Western Michigan

When Sean Tyler transferred to Minnesota, Buckley stepped in to fill the void. One of just two freshmen to run for 1,000 yards so far this year, he’s also just one of four freshmen with at least 10 touchdowns.

RB Makhi Hughes, Tulane

Faced with the tough task of filling Tyjae Spears’ shoes, Hughes has flourished in his debut. He’s been a 100-yard machine, leading all FBS freshmen with 1,290 yards and seven touchdowns on 243 carries.

WR Nic Anderson, Oklahoma

The Sooners’ big-play receiver has needed just 31 receptions to amass 725 yards and nine touchdowns, including the clincher to beat Texas with 15 seconds left. He leads all FBS receivers with 23.4 yards per catch.

WR Kevin Concepcion, NC State

Concepcion has done it all for the Pack in his first season on campus. He’s caught 64 passes for 767 yards and an FBS-freshman-high 10 touchdowns, lined up in the backfield to rush for 297 yards and even threw a TD pass in the Virginia Tech win.

TE Jack Endries, Cal

Endries leads all freshmen tight ends in receptions (32) and receiving yards (385) to go along with a pair of touchdowns. He turned down offers from smaller schools to walk on at Cal.

OL Parker Brailsford, Washington

For the second straight year, a Washington lineman has been named Freshman All-American. Brailsford has started every game, two at RG and the last 10 at center, earning Pro Football Focus’ highest mark among freshmen O-linemen.

OL Earnest Greene, Georgia

Greene has been the all-important blindside protector for Carson Beck who’s been one of the least sacked quarterbacks in the country. He has started all 13 games at left tackle.

OL Francis Mauigoa, Miami

The Canes’ blue-chip recruit was instantly slotted into the lineup at right tackle, where he stayed all season. Mauigoa is a 6-6, 330-pound wrecking ball with freakish agility and quickness for his size.

OL Wendell Moe, Arizona

Moe has been a rock at left guard for a Wildcat offense that ranks 11th nationally in yards per play. He’s started every game and has excelled at keeping the pocket clean.

OL Kadyn Proctor, Alabama

Proctor overcame a slow start to improve dramatically as his first season unfolded. The 6-7, 360-pound blue-chipper from Iowa has been a Day 1 starter at left tackle, testament to his immense potential.
