It got what seemed to be the two nastiest games out of the way, but it lost to both Utah and at Kansas State. All of a sudden going to BYU is dangerous, but the Cowboys get two weeks off after this to get ready.
West Virginia has to deal with Iowa State and Kansas State next, but a least those two are at home. Arizona and Cincinnati are after that on the road - it needs to steal a tough win somewhere.

The turnovers aren’t completely why it lost the last two games, but the five turnovers didn’t help from a passing attack that’s pressing way too much without a steady running game to rely on.
West Virginia needs the offense to crank it up. It’s 2-0 when coming up with more than 400 yards, 0-2 when when it doesn’t.
It’s 8-2 in its last ten games when getting to 400 yards, and the Oklahoma State defense has allowed 450 or more in three of its last four and and is dead last in the Big 12 and 129th in the nation in yards allowed giving up 481 per outing. But …

West Virginia has been good for at least two in the three games against FBS teams and is -5 on the season in turnover margin.
Overall it’s a strong team, but there have ben too many breakdowns in key moments. Special teams misfires, third down conversions, and inability to control the time of possession battle - other than not getting flagged the team just isn’t sharp enough.
This should be an even back-and-forth game throughout, and at home with its back against the wall, the Oklahoma State offensive balance should come through. Kansas was able to run for 247 yards against the Mountaineers, Pitt through for over 300 yards, and …
