Texas Tech vs Oklahoma State Prediction, Game Preview, and Betting Lines

Preview of the Texas Tech vs Oklahoma State matchup with the CFN prediction, why each team will win, and betting lines for the Week 13 game.

Oklahoma State’s horrendous season is close to coming to a merciful end.

It’s on a seven-game losing streak with nothing going quite right - this team couldn’t catch ANY break - and now the wheels have come off with three straight double-digit defeats.

However, beating Texas Tech would be fun, and ruining Colorado’s College Football Playoff dream next week would make the season.

The Red Raiders went from having everything on the table to also-ran status losing there of its last four games.

It’s bowl eligible, but there’s a chance to close strong with this and a home game against West Virginia next week.

Why Texas Tech Will Win

Just stop with the turnovers.

The offense is okay. It’s not as great as it should be, and the running game needs to do more, but it ’s fine. The defense has its issues - more on that in a moment - but that’s been baked into the Texas Tech cake.

The multiple turnovers in each of the last five games and 11 in the last five have been brutal.

Oklahoma State’s defense is getting destroyed. Texas Tech should move as well as it wants, and it’s helped by the Cowboys not coming up with any takeaways in the last two games.

Why Oklahoma State Will Win

Oklahoma State, start throwing, keep throwing, and don’t stop throwing.

The passing game has been brutally inconsistent with way too many misfires and mistakes, but this is the defense to go against to make everything right, even if it’s too late.

The Texas Tech pass defense is the second-worst in the nation allowing 306 yards per game.

Oklahoma State is 3-2 when throwing for more than 240 yards, 0-5 when throwing for fewer, and …

Texas Tech vs Oklahoma State: Who Will Win?

Oklahoma State has allowed fewer than 240 passing yards twice, but one of the games was against a Washington State team that ran for over 300 yards.

The Cowboy passing game will have fun, it’ll bomb away for close to 300 yards, and the defense will give up the big plays just as fast. Texas Tech will stop the skid with - finally - a strong game on the ground.

No matter what, expect offenses, and expect a whole lot of fun.
