What’s Going To Happen
Northern Illinois has bigger fish to fry next week going to the MAC Championship, and Western Michigan has six wins and bowl eligibility wrapped up. However, the MAC might not be assured of getting all of its teams a bowl – WMU needs this to make sure it’s going somewhere.
Hitting the skids with three straight losses, make it four straight, and this won’t be an attractive option – especially if there’s a blowout.
The offense found it against Ball State last week, but the defense has gone bye-bye. The D won’t have a problem against a punchless NIU offense.
The Huskies lead the nation in sacks and are dominant in tackles for loss, but the WMU offensive line is just good enough to hold its own. Can the miserable pass defense hold on?
Yeah, Northern Illinois can’t throw well enough to take advantage of the Bronco defensive issues.
WMU freshman QB Kaleb Eleby will have to hold up under the pressure of the NIU pass rush, but the Huskies will take it relatively easy to stay in one piece for next week.
The Bronco defense will hold up, LeVante Bellamy and the ground game – he’s coming off a 213-yard day – will hold up, and the Broncos will finish up the regular season with a low-scoring home win.
