What’s Going To Happen
They finally did it.
The UTEP Miners were kicking on the door of finally getting a win for a few weeks, and then there rolled by Rice last week 34-26 for the first victory since 2016. That was good, but beating Middle Tennessee would be a whole lot more impressive.
The Blue Raiders have kicked it in at the right time to technically be on top of the Conference USA East race, but the loss to FIU a few weeks ago means they need a little help.
The offense has been good enough – even if it’s not consistent – but the defense has been the difference with good performance after good performance in conference play.
Middle Tennessee hasn’t allowed more than 24 points in any of the last six games – all C-USA dates. The D will give up yards, but not a whole lot of points. UTEP might be better, but the offense still isn’t exploding.
The Miners aren’t getting enough from the O line, the turnover margin is still a problem, and there isn’t enough offensive pop.
The Blue Raider defensive front will take over when it has to, and QB Brent Stockstill will be good for at least 200 yards with at least two scores.
