– It’s a far, far easier schedule than last year’s almost unfair run, but it’s still no layup. Starting out against Georgia Southern’s option attack isn’t fun no matter what, but then it’s attitude time with a trip to Texas with a chance at making a massive national statement. Getting Northwestern State is light and breezy, and a good Utah State team shouldn’t be that much of a problem after getting a week off to prepare. However …
– It would’ve been nice to get that off week at another time. There’s a week to prepare for the trip to Alabama, and that’s followed up by a date at Ole Miss. However, the Tigers get Texas A&M at home this year along with Auburn. They only leave Baton Rouge once – going to Mississippi State – from September 28th to November 9th. However …
– There are five road games in nine dates. As always, the permanent rivalry game against Florida is hard, but at least that’s at home. The other one is at Vanderbilt – no real complaints there – even though the Commodores should be solid. There’s no Georgia to deal with.
