Kansas State vs Oklahoma State Game Preview
Why Kansas State Will Win
Oklahoma State still doesn’t have much of an offense.
It finally perked up a bit with over 400 yards in the loss to Iowa State, but the turn turnovers and continued inconsistency was a problem.
The passing attack has options, and it has parts that should be better, but the O only completed 39-of-81 passes - 48% - over the last two games, and now it gets the Kansas State defense that’s been able to hold its own with lots of bending without a ton of breaking.
The Wildcats have been solid offensively, balanced, and they’re doing a great job of limiting the mistakes. Oklahoma State needs turnovers, breaks, and easy opportunities to capitalize on, but it only came up with two takeaways so far and none in the two losses.
Own third downs, get up a few scores, and K-State should be able to cruise, but …

Why Oklahoma State Will Win
SOMETHING has to break the Cowboys out of their funk.
They should be far better than they’ve played so far, and it starts with getting even more out of the ground game to take the pressure off of everything else.
There were signs last week with Ollie Gordon running for 121 yards in a great day against Iowa State. It starts there - keep feeding him, and hope the rest of the offense comes around.
Kansas State’s defense overall is a plus, but it’s dead last among Big 12 teams in pass D. If Oklahoma State’s downfield passing game is ever going to show up, this has to be the week to try.

Kansas State vs Oklahoma State Who Will Win
Is this it? Just as quickly as Oklahoma State went in the tank in the middle of last year, that’s how fast it can get it back - at least that’s the hope for the program.
But Kansas State - even with the issues in the secondary - is too solid and too efficient. It’s not going to burn itself, the run defense will hold up fine - it’s allowing just 2.5 yards per carry - and it’ll get past a tight first half with a few good scoring drives in the second half to take over.
It’s not exactly slow and steady wins the race, but K-State will have the ball for 35 minutes as the disparity in third down production will add up.
