2019 Georgia Bulldogs Football Schedule Analysis
– Let’s put it this way – if Georgia doesn’t at least 1) go 11-1 and 2) get to the SEC Championship again, it won’t be because of its schedule.
Notre Dame is a big, giant, huge non-conference game, but that’s in Athens. Georgia Tech is going to be interesting and different at the end of the regular season, but going to Atlanta isn’t that big a deal for the Dawgs. The non-conference home games against Murray State and and Arkansas State have to be layups
– The season starts out at Vanderbilt. Georgia can’t just show up and assume a win, but … it’s Vanderbilt. After that, the Dawgs have just one true road game from September 7th until November 16th, going to Tennessee in early October.
As always, the Florida game is in Jacksonville, and Missouri, South Carolina and Kentucky are all home games. That means the two road games against the East – Vanderbilt and Tennessee – are against the bottom two teams in the division standings last season.
– And here’s the concern and potential problem. Georgia should be favored in each of the first nine games, and Notre Dame and Florida aren’t exactly two-foot putts. And then comes the nasty make-or-break two game stretch, going to Auburn and following it up against Texas A&M. There’s no Alabama or LSU from the West, but dealing with the Tigers and Aggies will be hard enough.
