All of a sudden, it’s a player in the Big 12 race after the total destruction of Kansas State in a strange 38-9 win. The rest of the schedule is a bear, but after a rough 2023 a 4-0 start is massive.
Baylor has to get up off the mat in a hurry after the painful late loss to Colorado on the Shedeur Sanders miracle.
At 0-2 in the Big 12 it’s all but out of the conference title chase, and with four road games in the next six, it needs this home win.

Seriously, what kind of a mood will Baylor be in after THAT?
So what’s BYU doing so well? It’s not good on third downs, the offense is meh, and the ground game isn’t all that great.
It came up with three takeaways against Kansas State, the special teams have been terrific at times, and the O is holding on to the ball. It’s controlling games and the clock, slowing things down to a crawl at times.
The lines are playing great, the secondary has been wonderful, and to take this into the goofy, the team just seems to have an IT factor.
There’s a confidence to the way it’s been playing, and it showed up large defensively on the road at SMU, and in all phases at home against Kansas State. But …

Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?
Baylor actually did a great job overall against Colorado. It was one misfire in the secondary from getting away with the win over the Buffs.
Baylor is playing even better than BYU on special teams - punter Palmer Williams is a weapon - the secondary really has been good, and the pass rush has been terrific so far.
The team was posterized all week because of the late meltdown in Boulder, but overall it’s been good.

The pass rush that beat up Shedeur Sanders with eight sacks, and was good in the first two games, will bring the heat in this.
BYU will struggle on third downs, the passing game won’t be that great, and yeah, Baylor really will respond with a strong performance.
The Bear running game will get going early, and the D will take care of the rest.
