Is this one of those throw-out-the-record-book games? It’s obviously a big rivalry, but at the moment these two military academies are going in the opposite football directions.

Air Force is usually far, far, better than this, but the offense can’t get going and the defense isn’t picking up the slack. It has yet to win a game over an FBS team - or come all that close in most of the losses - including a 34-7 whacking from Navy. But can this be when it call kicks in and the team makes a big pivot? Nah, but starting to be more efficient would be nice.

Army is on a tear. At 7-0 it’s the darling of the media when it comes to the College Football Playoff pie-in-the-sky dreams, but it has to prove itself against someone decent.

The Knights have yet to beat a team that will end up going bowling, but now it’s on. First this - again, the rivalry aspect matters - then at North Texas, and then the date with Notre Dame to make-or-break the narrative of just how high this team can - sorry, Air Force - fly.

Air Force vs Army: Who Will Win?

Army is ripping everyone apart with ruthless efficiency, and Air Force can’t get its system working. The biggest problem for the Falcons is their inability to slow down the run - that’s sort of a problem against Army.

Army will throw a little, too, but as always, it’ll be the ground game that gets the job down in another dominant performance. The Air Force inability to keep drives going - it’s awful on third downs - will be a killer.
