Buffalo Bulls College Football Preview 2021: Top Players
Best Buffalo Bulls Offensive Player
RB Kevin Marks, Sr.
He never got enough credit and enough of the spotlight with Jaret Patterson going off. Marks still ran for 741 yards and seven touchdowns averaging close to seven yards per carry after running for close to 2,000 yards and 21 touchdowns in his first two seasons.
He’s got the toughness, the speed, and the upside to be the MAC’s top rusher and carry the attack and pick up the numbers lost with Patterson.
2. OT Jake Fuzak, Sr.
3. QB Kyle Vantrease, Sr.
4. OG Jake Klenk, Sr.
5. WR Dominic Johnson, Sr.
Best Buffalo Bulls Defensive Player
LB James Patterson, Sr.
One of the MAC’s best all-around linebackers over the last three years should be the team’s leading tackler again and a lock for all-star honors. At 6-0 and 230 pounds he’s got good size and brings the thump, making 181 tackles with 2.5 sacks and 15.5 tackles for loss.
Banged up throughout 2019, he was never right. Last year he was back to normal and he hit everything including 13 tackles against both Bowling Green and Kent State.
2. S Cory Gross, Jr.
3. DT George Wolo, Soph.
4. S Tyrone Hill, Sr.
5. LB Kadofi Wright, Sr.
Top Incoming Buffalo Bulls Transfer
DT Josh Rogers, Jr.
There will be more transfers in time, but the coaching change happened so fast that there hasn’t been time to go steal – ahem – charm players from other schools.
The Bulls were able to get Rogers, a 6-5, 295-pound decent get for Texas A&M who didn’t do much over his career – just five tackles – but should be able to find a home right away on the inside of the UB line.
