Tulsa Golden Hurricane College Football Preview 2021: Top Players
Best Tulsa Golden Hurricane Offensive Player
RB Shamari Brooks, Sr.
While he’s only 5-9 and 190 pounds, he’s tough for his size and was ultra-durable right up until he suffered a knee injury just before last season started.
He handled the ball almost 600 times in his first three years, running for close to 2,700 yards and 23 touchdowns with a few catches here and there. He won’t have to carry the entire workload with a good deep group of backs, but it he’s back to form, he’s an all-star coming back to the mix.
2. OT Tyler Smith, Soph.
3. WR Keylon Stokes, Sr.
4. OT Chris Paul, Sr.
5. OG Dante Bivens, Sr.
Best Tulsa Golden Hurricane Defensive Player
DT Jaxon Player, Sr.
He went from being a nice part of the rotation and an occasional starter to an all-star all-around factor at one tackle spot. He made 37 tackles with three sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss, but he was more than just the stats. Not really an anchor – that’s Tyarise Stevenson on the nose – he’s a factor behind the line to go along with his run stopping ability.
2. LB Justin Wright, Jr.
3. S Cristian Williams, Sr.
4. S Kendarin Ray, Jr.
5. DT Tyarise Stevenson, Sr.
Top Incoming Tulsa Golden Hurricane Transfer
LB Jon-Michael Terry, Sr.
There’s no replacing Zaven Collins, and the linebacking corps is already solid, but it’s getting some more help. The 6-3, 245-pound Terry comes up the road from Oklahoma where he made 51 tackles over his four years. He could be used as a pass rusher as well as a big-body pounder wherever he lines up.
