Tulane Green Wave College Football Preview 2021: What Will Happen, Season Prediction
Tulane has been okay under Willie Fritz.
The program had two straight three-win seasons before he took over, it took a few years to move things around a bit and infuse his style, and now it’s been three bowl trips in three seasons.
It would be nice to make that bump up and be among the American Athletic Conference elite, and the Green Wave have been competitive with the stars over the last few years, but 20-18 over the last three season has been …
The 2021 Tulane team should be okay, too.
Set The Tulane Green Wave Regular Season Win Total At … 6
The offense will come up with a bit more pop down the field, the offensive line should be terrific, and the defense has been able to reload just enough to get to a bowl.
Fritz is secure in the gig – he got a contract extension last year to take him to 2026 – and now he’s going to tweak things a bit. The offense is going to start doing more with the passing game, there’s experience like everyone else has in this super-senior year, and the ability is there to assume another trip to a bowl game.
There can’t be any slip-ups against UAB, USF or at East Carolina, assume a win against Morgan State, and then it’s going to take a few upsets along the way.
No, this isn’t one of the elite teams in the AAC, but it’s got enough to potentially get by Houston and/or Tulsa at home, but can it beat Cincinnati, UCF or SMU?
Tulane won’t make the big leap it might want, but it’s close.
