Virginia just doesn’t score enough, but how much do you believe that North Carolina will show up and be fantastic? The line has gone up from Tar Heels -4 to 6.5 to 7.5, and it should all be okay. If UNC plays as well as it can play, and Virginia plays as well as it can play, this one’s easy. However, nothing about North Carolina against the spread. seems easy.

I can only tell you what I’m hearing. Spencer Rattler is just this close to it all totally clicking. He’s not Baker, Kyler or Jalen quite yet, but it’s coming. This Sooner team might not be CFP-good, but Texas Tech’s offense isn’t quite as strong as it needs to be if OU gets hot right away. 15.5 is a lot, but there’s a good shot that getting there is a breeze.

Don’t fall for the records, and don’t fall for the name recognition. Louisiana is going to beat Texas State, but the Bobcats have a way of sort of hanging around just enough to be pesky. The 17 points the Ragin’ Cajuns are giving away on the road are about about right – but this one isn’t easy. Louisiana is far better, but you’re not wrong to like Texas State and the points.

You’re always going to hold your breath with San Diego State giving away points. Even with the new coaching staff and more offensive punch, the 8.5 on the road it’s giving up to Utah State don’t seem right. Until proven otherwise, assume the Aztec D is just that good. It’ll be nail-biting, but the number is just fine if Utah State has the same offensive issues it did against Boise State.

YUCK … who wants to pick against BYU right now, especially at home? WKU hasn’t done anything so far to suggest it could rise up and pull off a shocker, but 31 points? The Hilltoppers can’t score, but the defense is just good enough to keep this from getting ugly. You might not like it, but … yuck. WKU +31 is the right call.

Sometimes, just buy into the silly. Buy into the emotion, the moment, and all the periphery things that go against any real X and O realities. Nevada should destroy UNLV, but it’s the rivalry game for the Fremont Cannon, and it’s the first UNLV game in the new stadium. The Wolf Pack will win, but the 13.5 – 14 in some places – are enough to like the Rebels to get.
