Both defenses are going to keep the scoring down, and if this turns into a beating by the Irish, it’ll likely be because the Blue Devil offense isn’t going anywhere. Duke failed to core more than 27 points in any of its last six games last season, and was under 18 in four of those. Notre Dame is going to be terrific, and it shouldn’t have a problem in its first game in full-on ACC life, but don’t expect a wild shootout.

1. ULM at Army

ULM should be an over machine.

Don’t get thrown off by last week’s 42-0 performance by Army over Middle Tennessee. The Knights really might be that strong, and that’s fine – ULM doesn’t have a defense.

However, the Warhawks will score a little bit – or just enough to help roll by 53. Nine of the 11 ULM games against FBS teams obliterated the 53-point total last year, and Army’s offense certainly appears to be a whole lot sharper after one game this season.
