2. The Indiana offense couldn’t get going

Two field goals and a pick six. again … that’s what Indiana’s defense came up with when it had a shot to put the game away.

IU finished with just 303 yards of total offense, fell flat all game long, and didn’t have top RB Stevie Scott to help pick up the slack. He was out for a second straight game, and it showed with QB Peyton Ramsey leading the normally good attack in rushing – his 54 yards and TD wasn’t really a positive.

Ramsey was fine. He spread the ball around well, pushed a few deep shots, and the receivers made things happen because everyone was involved.

When you have a 22-9 lead with a five minutes to play, you don’t want to take too many chances. IU didn’t totally go into a shell, but missing Scott took away a big piece, and again, Tennessee’s defense stepped up when it had to.
