1. It was still a really, really, really good season for Alabama
Of course it’s about winning the College Football Playoff National Championship when it comes to Alabama football. Don’t win it all, and the season is a bust – fair or not, that’s where the bar is set.
Of course there was a loss to Auburn, and there wasn’t even a trip to the SEC Championship.
But even after all the disappointments, the big injuries, and the two rough losses, Alabama just went 11-2 with a Citrus Bowl win over Michigan. For just about anyone else, this would be celebrated as an all-timer of a run – just ask 2019 Minnesota.
Is the dynasty over? Who cares what it’s called when you continue to be this good?
Alabama is still outstanding, it’s still going to be in the hunt for the national title next year, and it’s still going to be more talented than just about everyone else. It took a historically great LSU team that might just win the national title, and two pick-sixes by Auburn, to keep the Tide down.
Against Michigan, especially in the second half, Alabama showed it was still Alabama. It’s still really, really good at college football.
