2. It was still a good season for Michigan. Not amazing, but …

Good. It was a very good season that would be considered great for most programs.

Michigan whacked around one of its rivals, beating Michigan State 44-10. It destroyed Notre Dame 45-14, only lost in the regular season to three teams – Wisconsin, Penn State and Ohio State – that made the New Year’s Six or CFP, and got to a big New Year’s Day bowl game against Alabama.

It was a very good season. The team got better as the year went on, it rallied back after it seemed like things were about to turn for the worse, and … it was good.

After so many years without anything tremendous, just pushing for ten-win seasons with the annual loss to Alabama makes things seem stagnant.

A win over Bama would’ve changed that and would’ve been a huge boost going into the offseason. Instead, it’s another year with losses to Ohio State and in a bowl game to close things out.

NEXT: It was still a really, really, really good season for Alabama
