3. Jerry Jeudy decided to play
There was absolutely no reason for the superstar Alabama wideout to play in this.
He’s a top-five overall NFL talent – top ten at worst – and the smart move would’ve been to protect his investment and not risk so much as a bruised ego by suiting up for this game.
But he did, and right out of the gate he showed why Alabama is Alabama, and Michigan isn’t …
Michigan had a good defense that finished the regular season seventh in the nation overall and was fifth in pass defense allowing 174 yards per game.
Jeudy caught six passes for 204 yards and that one score all on his own. But he wasn’t alone. The other NFL guys showed up, too.
Najee Harris ran for 136 yards and two scores, DeVonta Smith caught three passes for 56 yards, Xavier McKinney made ten stops with a sack, Anfernee Jennings made ten tackles, and on and on.
Michigan had NFL guys, too.
But Alabama is Alabama for a reason.
