4. UCF’s offense is really, really good

The poor conditions didn’t seem to matter all that much for the UCF offense.

Marshall’s run defense was terrific all season long – finishing second in Conference USA – and it got steamrolled. UCF’s offensive line manhandled the Herd defensive front for 310 rushing yards yards with five different Knights running for 40 yards or more.

QB Dillon Gabriel wasn’t perfect, but he connected on the big plays UCF’s passing game hits on to take over – hitting 14-of-24 passes for 260 yards and two scores – to balance out an O that kept turning on the production every time it had to keep Marshall from getting any momentum.

This all came against a defense that allowed over 500 yards just one other time on the season – giving up 525 yards in the loss to Cincinnati. No one else gained more than the 437 that Boise State put up.
