4. No Eno Benjamin, big problem
Arizona State didn’t do much with the ground game this year, but the offense got a huge season out of Eno Benjamin, who carried the offense at times with six 100-yard games in his 1,083-yard, ten touchdown season.
When he ran for 100 yards, ASU was 5-1 – but he wasn’t playing in the Sun.
Benjamin is off to the NFL and he protected his investment, and Arizona State couldn’t find a running game to adjust.
FSU’s run defense was fine this year, but that’s partly because teams spent so much time throwing on the mediocre secondary. The D played well against ASU, and there wasn’t any push.
Demetrious Flowers led the Sun Devil running backs with 31 yards, QB Jayden Daniels led the team with 36 yards, and the team finished with just 87 yards with 27 of them coming on a Daniels run.
