Liberty (5-3) vs. UMass (1-7) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
Can Liberty really go bowling?
Hugh Freeze’s team might have done the impossible and made Rutgers look great in a 44-34 loss last week, and it continues its run of road games with three more away from home before closing out against New Mexico State.
With BYU and Virginia up next, winning this is a must to get to seven victories and bowl eligibility – the Flames played two FCS teams.
UMass hasn’t played a lick of defense in weeks, is allowing a nation-high 50.6 points per game, and can do anything to stop the run. Freshman QB Andrew Brito stepped in last week against UConn and was just good enough to keep things moving, but the defense didn’t do anything to help the cause.
Liberty will fifth team in eight games to run for over 300 yards on the Minutemen, Joshua Mack and Frankie Hickson will each hit the 100-yard mark in another shootout for both teams.
