What’s Going To Happen

Hawaii still has work to do to become bowl eligible, but there’s still time after losing three of its last four games.

San Jose State has lost three of its last four, too, needing to win two of its last three – at UNLV and Fresno State to close – to get to a bowl game.

Can the Spartans slow down the Hawaii passing game? Yeah. Its secondary has been fine, but the run defense has been the biggest problem – that’s not Hawaii.

Josh Love and the SJSU offense can win the ball around the yard – averaging over 300 yards per game – and they should have plenty of time to work. Hawaii doesn’t have a pass rush, the secondary is spotty, and it’s going to force the offense to keep pressing to pull this off.

It’ll be a fantastic offensive shootout with over 700 passing yards, with San Jose State getting help from three takeaways to have its moments to take over. The defense, though, won’t come up with enough late stops to pull off the upset – the Rainbow Warriors will own third downs.
