What’s Going To Happen

Temple had its chance last week to make a big statement in the American Athletic Conference race, and SMU’s offensive machine kept on rolling in a blowout win over the Owls. At home – where Temple is 4-0 – a win over UCF would be massive to stay in the race for the East title with the Cincinnati game still to come in a few weeks.

UCF continues to be its fun and explosive self, but it’s obliterating the East Carolina’s and UConns of the world. There’s a win at Florida Atlantic, but that’s just down the road a wee bit – it’s a road game, though. The Knights are 4-0 at home and 0-2 in those other away games other than FAU.

Temple is getting the job done with a terrific offense line that’s giving the passing attack time to work. This isn’t a rock-solid Owl team – there are too any turnovers and penalties – but the D has a way of locking up teams at home.

QB Anthony Russo will bounce back from a rocky game against SMU as he matches the UCF passing game big play for big play. The Owl secondary will get lit up for a third straight game, but the offense will control the clock and the D will generate just enough fourth quarter stops to pull off the win in a fun shootout.
