Texas A&M (3-3) vs. Ole Miss (3-4) Game Preview
Why Ole Miss Will Win
The running game has become a whole lot of fun.
The Rich Rodriguez offense might be a bit hit or miss, but the ground attack has hit the 200-yard mark in five of the last six games with the lone miss against Cal’s killer run D.
RB John Rhys Plumlee has become a factor. The quick freshman has rushed for over 400 yards with four touchdowns in the last three games – including a 109-yard day against Alabama – and the offense is starting to find its identity.
On the other side, Texas A&M’s running game is sputtering and coughing, Kellen More and the passing attack are okay – but not amazing – there are just enough turnovers to be a problem. The Aggies are 12th in the SEC in turnover margin, the D isn’t forcing mistakes, and there’s no pass rush whatsoever.
Ole Miss should be a +2 on the turnover side, and the backfield likely won’t be harassed enough to be a concern. But …

Why Texas A&M Will Win
The Ole Miss defense isn’t doing much of anything.
It rocked Vanderbilt, but everyone is stuffing the Commodore O.
The Rebels don’t have a pass defense – allowing 300 yards or more in five of their last six games – even Vanderbilt hit for 202 yards – and Mond needs to roll out of bed and put up 300 yards and three scores.
There’s a pass rush from the Rebels, but Mond should be able to get the ball out of his hands in a hurry to keep the chains moving. Ole Miss might be explosive, but it’s not going to be on the field enough if Mond is hitting his third down passes.
The Rebels only keep the ball for just over 28 minutes, while A&M’s downtempo style should be good enough to keep the offense on the field for at least 35 minutes.

What’s Going To Happen
There are plenty of good parts to the Ole Miss puzzle, but they’re not all quite fitting well enough to put it together for a full 60 minutes against a good team. It’s strong enough to hang around, and A&M is just mediocre enough to run away and hide with this, but Mond and the Aggie passing game will be too much and too consistently okay.
