What’s Going To Happen
Hawaii has put itself in a position to not just be in the hunt for a bowl game, but be in the mix for the Mountain West title. Nevada might not be all that great, but winning on the road 54-3 two weeks ago showed just how real the team is.
It was able to get it done away from Hawaii.
Boise State continues to be in the hunt for the Mountain West title and a New Year’s Six game, but it’s been a bit of a fight at times. The offense is fine, but it’s not running the ball well enough, the offensive line is just okay, and the scoring isn’t coming as easy as it should be.
But the defense is getting the job done with great plays in the backfield, timely stops, and with the Mountain West’s best pass defense.
Cole McDonald and the Rainbow Warrior offense keep on rolling – he’s hit the 300-yard mark in all four wins – but he’s going have a problem with consistency against the Bronco secondary.
Boise State will come up with third down stop after third down stop, and offensively, QB Hank Bachmeier will control the clock and the game with just enough good drives to get out alive.
It won’t be easy, but the Broncos will pull away in the second half after dealing with way too much of a fight for three quarters.
