What’s Going To Happen
Houston doesn’t seem like it’s quitting quite yet.
The Cougars might be a mess, there might be accusations of tanking by people who don’t realize that there’s no draft, but they’re rested after beating North Texas two weeks ago.
Cincinnati is riding high with a win over UCF to make it three straight wins with a really, really, really easy schedule for a while after this. The showdowns against Temple and Memphis don’t come until the end, so win this, and demand nothing less than 9-1 when the Owls come to town.
How’s it happening? The Bearcats are controlling the clock, they’re playing great defense in key spots, and they’re overcoming mistakes by just not breaking enough. The D will bend, but this group knows how to come up with stops.
The Houston defense is a mess, but Clayton Tune is a decent enough quarterback in place of D’Eriq King to push the Bearcats a bit. On the road, though, Cincinnati will grind out the clock and win the game by forcing stalled drive after stalled drive in its own territory.
