Tennessee (0-2) vs. Chattanooga (1-1) Game Preview
Why Chattanooga Will Win
Just how much will Tennessee press?
It’s condition critical time for the program after the 0-2 start, and if Chattanooga can just hang around for a while, get ready for the panic to start to kick in on the other side.
The Vols can’t come up with a meaningful third down stop, they’re not taking the ball away, and they keep melting down at the wrong times.
The Mocs don’t have the talent to hang around if Tennessee comes out hot, but the offensive line has done a strong job so far, the special teams have been a plus – the punting game has been great – and all it might take are a few good early drives to make this way too interesting.
Why Tennessee Will Win
Tennessee fans don’t want to hear it, but in several ways, the team hasn’t been that bad.
The running game was solid against a good BYU defense, QB Jarrett Guarantano has been okay, and the defensive front has been able to get into the backfield.
The consistent pop hasn’t been there, and the defense can’t seem to get off the field late in games, but now it’s time to have a little fun. The Chattanooga pass defense is a problem, and there won’t be much happening from a running game that will get caught in the backfield too often.

What’s Going To Happen
And here comes the big blowout.
Chattanooga will score early to get everyone grouchy, and then the Vol offense will explode on a big run to let everyone exhale. And finally, there won’t be any real fourth quarter drama.
