TCU (1-0) vs. Purdue (1-1) Game Preview
Why TCU Will Win
Will the Purdue offensive machine work if starting QB Elijah Sindelar can’t go, or if he’s not 100%? He suffered a concussion in the loss to Vanderbilt, and while backup Jack Plummer is a talented option with the upside to shine thanks to Rondale Moore and all the star receivers, he still the No. 2 guy.
The Boilermaker running game has been all but ignored with the passing attack so strong, but that goes into the teeth of the TCU defense – the secondary is a killer.
It’s a rested Horned Frog team with just enough offensive weapons to bother a Purdue defense that’s getting lit up like a Christmas tree. The two quarterback system of Max Duggan and Alex Delton provide different looks.
This might be a dangerous Boilermaker team, but it’s prone to mistakes with six turnovers so far and 14 penalties. TCU isn’t going to beat itself.
Why Purdue Will Win
Purdue can run away and hide with this thing if the passing attack keeps on roaring.
TCU might have a dangerous receiving corps and the talent to crank up the offense, too, but the Boilermaker passing game has been unstoppable. It’s currently third in the nation averaging 466 yards per game with Rondale Moore playing like the best receiver in college football.
The defense might give up huge passing yards – Nevada and Vanderbilt had to try to keep up – but the defense has been able to hold up just fine so far against the run. As long as there isn’t a turnover issue, the offensive production will be there.

What’s Going To Happen
We still don’t know what TCU is quite yet, but the defense should be the best in the Big 12, and the offense that struggled so much last year – and didn’t tear it up in the opener – has too much talent not to bust out.
This is where the TCU attack starts to work, the defense will come up with just enough key stops to hold serve, and the Big 12 will have a terrific road win in one of Saturday’s most entertaining games.
