Ohio (1-1) vs. Marshall (1-1) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
If this feels like one of those random bowl games between two Group of Five champs, that’s because it’s probably not that far off.
Ohio couldn’t get the O going against Pitt, and it has a sneaky-tough schedule over the next few weeks with Group of Five championship losers in Louisiana and Buffalo to follow, and then defending MAC champ Northern Illinois. The offense hasn’t quite been able to find any consistency, and this isn’t the week to do it.
Marshall played Boise State tough, and it’s going to be a problem defensively game after game. Controlling the clock has been a problem, and there wasn’t any scoring punch last week, but the defense can get behind the line and the linebacking corps is good enough to hold Ohio QB Nathan Rourke in check.
Ohio doesn’t have a pass rush, the defense isn’t taking the ball away, and the offense will be stopped on the road just enough for Marshall to get a much-needed tough win. It’ll be an entertaining battle, but the defenses will control things throughout.
