Georgia (1-0) vs. Murray State (1-0) Game Preview
Why Murray State Will Win
Can the Racers somehow generate a little bit of offensive balance?
Granted, playing Georgia is a wee bit difference than taking on the Pikeville Bears from the NAIA world, but Murray State really does have enough offensive pop to at least score a little bit.
Preston Rice is a decent dual-threat quarterback who can get the short-range passing game going, and the 1-2 rushing punch of Jared McCray and Rodney Castille is just good enough to make the Bulldogs try at least a little bit. However …
Why Georgia Will Win
There’s just no downfield passing game on the Murray State offense. As long as Georgia can stop the run, the defense won’t be taxed.
This week is about getting the Bulldog passing game clicking. There weren’t any problems with the offense in the 30-6 win over Vanderbilt, but Jake Fromm was just okay. He didn’t throw any picks, and he kept it conservative, but he also didn’t connect on enough big downfield passes.
This is one of those games that’s about getting the timing down. Fromm should be able to have a 13-of-15 game, and he should be able to push the ball down the field and take some shots. The Murray State secondary doesn’t have enough to stop it.

What’s Going To Happen
Georgia will put on a show for a half, and then it’ll be a showcase for the backups. Murray State will struggle to generate any points without a big takeaway, but it won’t matter. The Bulldogs can call their shot.
