East Carolina (1-1) vs. Navy (1-0) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
Can East Carolina stop the Navy running game? The Midshipmen have had two weeks off since ripping up Holy Cross, looking and playing like it was in already in midseason form.
It’s going to take a little while to get the defense going, and there have to be a few more takeaways after only coming up with one against the Crusaders, but they have the ability to hold on to the ball for close to 40 minutes if the ECU linebackers don’t have a big game.
So far, the East Carolina run defense hasn’t been bad, but the passing attack hasn’t been on yet with nothing happening down the field, and it needs to be this week.
The Pirates are able to keep the chains moving, and they can control the clock a little bit, but it won’t be enough. They got hit hard by the NC State running game, but the Wolfpack were able to open up the passing game – Navy can’t do that consistently enough.
Malcolm Perry can hit on a few open passes that are there, the deep backfield will control things early on, and Navy will come up with solid win with over 300 yards on the ground.
