Army (1-1) vs. UTSA (1-1) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
UTSA can’t stop the run.
Thanks for playing, tip your waitresses. However …
Army’s offense hasn’t quite worked yet. It’s been great at grinding down the clock, but it’s not doing enough to dominate on the ground. Being held up by Michigan is one thing, but it had problems against Rice, too. UTSA might be allowing close to 200 rushing yards per game, but it’s got the linebackers and ability to at least hold serve enough to keep this tight.
For all the love Army is getting for its close call against Michigan, it’s fumbling too often, the defense isn’t doing enough on third downs, and there’s not enough pressure in the backfield.
The Roadrunners are also amazing at controlling the clock, keeping the ball for close to 36 minutes per game so far. They’re good at getting behind the line, and they have a dangerous running game, too, that’s going to power the ball on the Knights.
Is this the week the Army offense breaks out? No, but it’ll be more effective than it’s been in the first two weeks on the way to a tougher-than-expected victory.
