Akron (0-2) vs. Central Michigan (1-1) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
Does Central Michigan have a backfield left? The Chippewas were hammered by Wisconsin 61-0, and along the way lost QB Quinten Dormady (knee) and RB Jonathan Ward (shoulder). However, it shouldn’t take too many points to battle with a punchless Akron team.
The Zips are having a rough time under new head coach Tom Arth, getting rolled by Illinois and UAB to kick things off, but now they have a real, live shot to go on a run with UMass and Kent State both winnable games after getting Troy at home.
The CMU defense has to take over against an Akron offensive line that’s having a nightmare of a time keeping QB Kato Nelson from getting hit. But this week, the Zips will go into ball control mode against a CMU offense that will have even less punch than before. It won’t be a pretty game, but it’ll be close for a full four quarters.
