Western Michigan (0-0) vs. Monmouth (0-0) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
Western Michigan gets a tune-up before taking a trip up the road to face Michigan State. First, it has to get by a solid Monmouth team that got drilled by the better teams on the slate, but still came up with a good 2017 season in the Big South.
The Hawks didn’t have much of a pass rush last season and didn’t force enough takeaways, but they get back seven starters on the defensive side to go along with an offense with just enough talent and passing game – QB Kenji Bahar is a good one – to at least make this a bit of a fight.
The Broncos have to find a pass rush of their own, but they get back 13 of the top 14 tacklers and should get enough from the linebacking corps to generate enough third down stops to turn this into a rout in the second half.
The WMU offense has to get the new parts at running back and receiver going after a few key transfers, but there won’t be a problem. Expect the score to open up late in the third.
