TCU (0-0) vs. Arkansas-Pine Bluff (0-0) Game Preview
Why Arkansas-Pine Bluff Will Win
The Lions are going to have a whole slew of problems, but the offense can move the ball.
Nine starters are back from an attack that got a great season out of the offensive line – and will again – with a whole lot of pop and explosion. Taeyler Porter is a terrific back averaging over five yards per carry, the receivers are solid, and there’s the potential to push the TCU D just a wee bit.
UAPB is good at controlling the tempo and the clock, but …
Why TCU Will Win
The offense isn’t going anywhere against the Horned Frog D. This is the game to get the linebacking corps in place along with several other new parts – seven of the top eight tacklers are gone – but this is a true preseason tune-up before going to Purdue. The defense will be fine.
It’s the other side that needs the most work, and it should be more than fine against the Lions once the offensive line gets going. The UAPB secondary has experience, but it couldn’t slow anyone down last season, and it’s going to be target practice time for the Horned Frog passing game.
What’s Going To Happen
With 55 points or more scores in each of the last four games against FCS teams, TCU doesn’t take it easy when it gets a chance to scrimmage. It’ll call its shot here as the offense works out the kinks.
