Best Rutgers Offensive Player

RB/KR Raheem Blackshear, Jr.
A dangerous weapon no matter how he got the ball in his hands, the 5-9, 192-pounder led the team with 586 rushing yards and three scores, and caught 44 passes for 367 yards and two touchdowns. An all-star in the classroom as well as on the field, he’s a team leader who’ll combine with Isaih Pacheco to give the Scarlet Knights – potentially – a real, live ground attack.

Best Rutgers Defensive Player

CB Avery Young, Soph.
The 6-0, 193-pounder stepped up right out of the gate as a freshman and turned into the team’s third-leading tackler. He made 67 stops at corner with ten broken up passes, but he didn’t generate an interception. Quick enough to be used as a punt returner and mature enough to handle himself when thrown to the wolves, he’ll soon rise up into an All-Big Ten-caliber performer.
