3. TOP FIU PLAYERS

Best FIU Offensive Player

QB James Morgan, Sr.
Where did this come from? Morgan was a nice quarterback at Bowling Green who moved the offense and threw a slew of interceptions, but he wasn’t considered anything all that amazing when he transferred to FIU. As it turned out, he was exactly what the offense needed, hitting 65% of his passes for 2,727 yards and 26 touchdowns. With just seven picks, he took care of the ball and didn’t screw up for the ultra-efficient offense.

Best FIU Defensive Player

LB Sage Lewis, Sr.
The 6-1, 240 pounder stepped up his game as a sophomore with a nice 55 tackle season, and then he took his game to a whole other level making a team-high 132 stops with four tackles for loss.

Against Charlotte, he came up with a key 61-yard fumble return for a score to go along with his 11 tackles – his last of six double-digit stop games on the year. He might not get in the backfield enough, but he’s always around the ball as the leader of what’s about to be another strong FIU D.
