4. Wisconsin Badgers
Wisconsin is almost always a big bag of whatever when it comes to the recruiting season.
It has made an art out of recruiting to a type, developing little-loved prospects into all-stars who magically fit the system.
Paul Chryst didn’t exactly capitalize on the huge 2017 Orange Bowl-winning season last year – there wasn’t time, considering the year ended after the early signing period. But now he’s getting some terrific prospects who are more than just try-hard types who’ll be built up into what the program needs.
Last year’s class had a few nice prospects, but this year’s haul has boosted up the talent. It starts with Graham Mertz – one of the better quarterback recruits the program has ever landed – and with Logan Brown about a sure a thing as it gets to grow into another great Badger lineman.
The fit-a-type guys are still there, and there’s no overall philosophical change. The prospects are just stronger this time around.
