2019 Central Michigan Chippewas Football Schedule Analysis

– The new start under head coach Jim McElwain begins with a tune-up game against Albany, and then the paychecks start to kick in. The Chippewas go to Wisconsin, and then to Miami a few weeks later. Fortunately, New Mexico State is the other non-conference game – CMU should go 2-2 outside of the MAC.

– The two toughest West division games should be Northern Illinois and Toledo, and both of those are at home. Unfortunately, the Western Michigan game is just down the road in Kalamazoo, and it’s at the end of the third road game in four dates. There’s a week off before going to Ball State.

– On the down side, one game against the East is at Buffalo. Going to Bowling Green isn’t that big a problem, and dealing with Akron isn’t a big deal. Missing Miami University and Ohio is a big break.
