It’s good. Herm Edwards didn’t crank up anything too amazing, but considering how light the Pac-12 recruiting season was, it’s just strong enough to be around the upper half of the league’s classes. There are only a few superstar gets, but there were enough to make a difference.

Stephon Wright is probably going to be the star of this class, but QB Jayden Daniels is the one who has to hit. There are other options with Manny Wilkins gone, but the sooner the Daniels can be ready, the better. Tall, mobile, and with next-level upside, he’s the future face of the program.

Wright was a total steal out of Los Angeles. Washington was all over him, and so were Oregon, USC … and Alabama, Oklahoma and Texas A&M. He’s got All-Pac-12 pass rushing potential once he’s turned loose.

Daniels isn’t the only quarterback who signed on. Joey Yellen is a decent 6-3, 220-pound prospect, and Ethan Long is a decent passer with the smarts to go to an Ivy League school.

After going light on the offensive line last year, this class is loaded with prospects. Five were signed on, with LaDarius Henderson versatile enough to work anywhere up front, and Dohnovan West a potentially strong guard once he beefs up a bit.

Next year, the Sun Devils need to come up with a few more linebackers. Edwards landed two great prospects last year, and only one was signed in this class. A slew of hybrid types for the outside are a must.

There weren’t any running backs signed, either. The backfield is fine with Eno Benjamin returning and four prospects brought in last year, but along with linebacker, it’s a must need position to fill in 2020.

There wasn’t much of anything happening after the early signing period.   One more prospect was signed on, but the recruiting season was done in December. Everything was locked in early, but now the real work begins to go big prospect hunting.
