2019 Wisconsin Badgers Football Schedule Analysis
– Wisconsin AD Barry Alvarez was at the forefront of wanting Big Ten teams to schedule better non-conference games. That’s coming later for the Badgers, playing Notre Dame, Washington State, Virginia Tech, Pitt and UCLA games in home-and-home series over the next several seasons.
This year? Going to Tampa to face USF to open the season will have to qualify as the one big game. The other two are light scrimmages against Central Michigan and Kent State.
– The first half of the season is shockingly generous when it comes to home games. The Badgers come back from the date with the Bulls and don’t leave Madison until the October 19th game at Illinois – and then comes the payback. Five of the last seven games are on the road.
– In the West, the showdowns against Nebraska and Minnesota are on the road, but the dates with Northwestern, Iowa and Purdue are in Camp Randall. The East? Uh oh … Michigan to open the Big Ten season, Michigan State, and at Ohio State.
