2019 Virginia Cavaliers Football Schedule Analysis
– The Cavaliers open the season with a shot to make a big statement in the Coastal race against defending divisional champ Pitt on the road. There isn’t another game in the division until mid-October when they have to go to Miami. They have to go to North Carolina, too, as part of a run of three road games in four weeks. The Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech games are at home, though – UVa doesn’t leave the state in the final month.
– The first game against the Atlantic comes in the middle of September against Florida State. The other is part of that three-road-game-in-four-week stretch at Louisville. There’s no Clemson or NC State to face, though.
– William & Mary starts out the non-conference schedule, with Old Dominion next on the slate a few weeks later. That’s easy, but going to Notre Dame at the end of September isn’t. Fortunately, facing Hugh Freeze’s Liberty squad near the end of November helps that.
