2019 Utah Utes Football Schedule Analysis

– The Utes get the Holy War against BYU out of the way right out of the gate. It’s a Thursday game, giving them two extra dates to rest of and get ready for Northern Illinois, and then Idaho State. Yes, BYU is always going to be a battle, but … there aren’t any non-conference games against Power Five programs. That’s okay, because …

– Want to repeat as the South champs? Beat USC on the road to start the season. Lose, and the Washington State game the following week becomes an issue. There’s no Oregon or Stanford from the North, and hosting Washington State and Cal isn’t bad, but the Utes have to go to Washington.

– The South slate isn’t all that bad outside the Pac-12 opener against the Trojans. Arizona State, UCLA and Colorado have to come to Salt Lake City, and going to Arizona isn’t all that nasty.
